Suspect Arrested in Text Threat to FM High School

During a Fort Myers High School basketball game on Wednesday evening, February 13, 2019, an FMPD School Resource Officer became aware of threatening text messages. The messages were being sent by a known suspect stating that he would shoot a targeted individual and shoot up Fort Myers High School.

Detectives and Road Patrol officers searched for the suspect through the night, but were unsuccessful in locating him.  Extra FMPD officers were stationed at Fort Myers High School this morning and the named suspect was arrested without incident. 

Arrested this morning was Trayvon Campbell (Date of Birth 8/28/2001) on felony charges that include: written threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting and possession of weapon on school grounds (a pocket knife.) Campbell was arrested on school property and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center of Lee County.
