The Southland Taproom opened on Nov. 17 at 16230 Summerlin Road.  This is near Health Park Medical Center in South Fort Myers.

Southland, owned by Florida native Tommy Johnson, curates the beers and ciders for its 24 taps from local breweries. They also bring in craft beers from across the country, with an emphasis on beers made in Florida and throughout the Southeast.

The taproom also offers a selection of wines and spiked seltzers. A refrigerated case houses cold bottle and can inventory that can be consumed on site or taken home. Craft-beer flights are also available. Growler fills will reportedly be offered soon.

Johnson, a former IT project manager, holds a certificate in the business of craft beer from Portland State University. He is a Certified Beer Server through Cicerone.
