LCSO Tracks Down Grinch Who Tries to Steal Early Christmas from Business

On Saturday November, 10, 2018, deputies responded to Galeana Kia at 14483 S. Tamiami Trail. This was in reference to a past occurred burglary to a business.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that at 12:17 a.m. a Hyundai SUV drove up the ramp to the front door of the dealership. The vehicle was then used to push the two front doors open. The vehicle then left.

At 1:50 a.m., the suspect returned. He backed the vehicle up to the pushed in doors of the business and left with 4 Yeti coolers and a flat screen TV.

At 3:41 a.m. the suspect returned again with another subject. They entered the business and left with 2 more Yeti coolers and a cardboard box of Christmas lights and laser light decorations.

Central District Criminal Investigation Detectives were able to identify the suspect. He is Richard George White (DOB 1/10/66) and had recently purchased a vehicle from the same dealership.

The investigation revealed that he also stole a salesman’s wallet while purchasing the vehicle.


On Thursday November 15, 2018, after 8 hours of surveillance, detectives and the LCSO Aviation Unit located the vehicle and arrested him. White was charged with Burglary, Larceny, and Criminal Mischief.
