International Phonograph Expert @ Edison Ford

Thursday:  This summer, international phonograph expert, author, and lecturer John Kurdyla will provide weekly phonograph presentations. A resident of Padua, Italy, Kurdyla has one of the largest private collections of phonographs and Edison memorabilia and authored the book “When Music Was magic,” available at Edison Ford Museum Stores. His expert and engaging demonstrations have been a favorite of Edison Ford visitors for years! Presentations will be held every Thursday at 4 pm at the Edison Ford Shoppe at the Bell Tower Shops. Reservations are not required. This presentation is FREE for all.


Sounds of Summer: Roots Almighty & the Regulars

Friday:  Experience one of the area’s best reggae bands, Roots Almighty, at the Sounds of Summer! This original act hails from Bonita Springs and has been featured in the acclaimed Sugarshack Sessions. See them live at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center with opening act The Regulars. The Regulars were the winners of last year’s Summer Singer-Songwriter Competition. Tickets are just $5.  Music starts at 8 pm, Doors open at 7:30 pm. FSW and FGCU students BOGO with Student ID at box office!


Mystery Walk

Friday:  This family-friendly event invites you to search for the clues throughout core downtown and enter for a chance to win prizes! Mystery Walk is a great way to explore downtown and have some fun too! Check-in starts at 6 pm and the challenge stays open until about 8 pm. Cash prizes for four winners. Check-in is at the corner of First and Hendry Streets in front of Iberia Bank. This is FREE to play and no purchase is necessary at participating locations.


Lee County Public Safety Shootout

Saturday:  Heroes Unmasked Inc will be hosting their 4th annual Public Safety Shootout. This charitable hockey game at the Fort Myers Skatium features 2 local law enforcement teams facing off head to head benefiting Heroes Unmasked, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Southwest Florida. They are calling on all heroes within the community to join their alliance of fighting evil, known as ailments in children. Their commitment is to ensure every child has a brighter tomorrow. Also featured at the game will be costumed heroes, raffles, and a silent auction. $10 for adults and children ages 11 and older. Free for children ages 10 and younger.


Fort Myers Bridal Show

Sunday:  SWFL Elite Weddings and Events welcomes you to a unique, FREE Bridal Show. We create an outstanding version of what your ideal wedding or celebration will look like. Be our guest at the beautiful ballrooms at Holiday Inn @ Fort Myers Airport from 1 – 4 PM!  Bring your family and friends to see this beautiful display and meet with professional event vendors. Enjoy a cash bar with mimosas and Bloody Mary cocktails, light bites, cupcakes samples and win amazing door prizes.  Every attendee receives a folder with material, coupons, and information from all vendors. We will be collecting gently loved wedding gowns and dresses from the public all year round to distribute to Pace Center for Girls at each of our bridal shows.
