Boston Red Sox offers free tickets to first responders, holds ongoing hurricane relief fund

In conjunction with its Hats Off to Heroes program presented by John Hancock, the Boston Red Sox will offer select complimentary tickets to the opening single-admission doubleheader of its spring training season against the Northeastern University Huskies followed by a matchup against the Boston College Eagles.

The game will take place at 1:05 p.m. on Feb. 22 at JetBlue Park at Fenway South. All first responders in Southwest Florida including police, sheriff, emergency medical service, fire personnel and active military will receive two free tickets with proper I.D. 

The complimentary tickets will be available for pick up at the JetBlue Park box office, until Feb. 17, on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last. The JetBlue Park box office hours are Monday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

The Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins also have set up the SWFL Hurricane Irma Relief Fund to assist those impacted by the storm. Each team donated $100,000 to assist with Hurricane Irma relief efforts and donations can be made at https://floridacommunity.com/redsox-twins-fund/.
