5 Things To Do This Weekend in Fort Myers

Books, cars, dogs, football, music and more.

Making weekend plans?  Check out these 5 things to do this weekend in Fort Myers:

Southwest Florida Reading Festival

Saturday:  The Southwest Florida Reading Festival is a FREE event presented annually by Lee County Library System to promote reading, literacy, and library services. Best-selling authors give presentations and sign books for fans. Fun for the whole family. We have a new location this year and are excited to celebrate this on the campus of Fort Myers Regional Library!

Ford Mustang Exhibition

Saturday:   The Ford Mustang debuted in 1964 and immediately became a success when Henry Ford’s grandson, Henry Ford II, was Chairman & CEO of the Ford Motor Company. In just two years, more than one million Mustangs were sold. This event includes Mustangs, music, and more. A portion of the proceeds from the Mustang Exhibition will benefit the restoration of the Edison Ford antique car collection. Admission: Edison Ford Members Free; non-members $20 (includes admission to Edison and Ford estates, museum, and lab). For more information or to register your car contact Leeanne Criswell, Edison Ford Program Registrar at 239-334-7419 or lcriswell@edisonfordwinterestates.org.

Dog Day at the Farm

Saturday:  Come on out to Southern Fresh Farms for a fun day with your favorite four-legged friends! Big Hearts for Big Dogs and Lee County Sheriffs Department Cell Dog Program will be here from 10am-3pm. They both work very hard to make sure animals in this area not only get rescued but also find their forever homes! All pets are welcome! Must be non-aggressive and on a leash at all times. We will have raffles, vendors, and Joy Delerving SoCo Food Truck will all be here! Faces by Joelle will be here doing face painting.
****Parking is limited and once our parking lot is full please do not park on the side of the road that is in front of the Paseo neighborhood. ****

Florida Stingrays Football & Cheerleading Camp

Saturday:  This was scheduled to be a Florida Stingrays football game, but the opponent decided to fold instead of coming to Fort Myers and taking a beating. Since the Stingrays already have the field, this is a great opportunity to invite the kids out for an opportunity to shine Under The Lights. This FREE football and cheerleading camp is a great opportunity to meet some of the players, coaches, cheerleaders, and staff, pick up some pointers and have some fun.  Bring the kids, bring the neighbors, watch the pros help the kids learn to be the best they can be.

Sizzlin’ Sunday-Stevie Ray Vaughn Tribute Band

Sunday:  Join Six Bends Harley Davidson for Double Your Trouble, a Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute band rockin’ the house from 1:00 PM-4: 00 PM! As always, there will be beer, food, and vendors! Come out for a great time!
