Myra Roberts: Dream Peace
Friday: The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is pleased to announce it is again hosting an exhibition of works by renowned Sanibel-based artist Myra Roberts. The opening reception of “Dream Peace” is Friday, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Free to Attend. As an artist focusing on social commentary issues, Myra Roberts’ “Dream Peace” is her newest series of multimedia works in a project spanning the past two decades. “Dream Peace” features poster-style paintings of contemporary political injustices, portraits of Bielski partisans and other survivors of the Holocaust (some of whom were interviewed by the artist), testimonial videos, and spiritual/Buddhist paintings that evoke the antithesis of war.
Florida Gun Show
Saturday – Sunday: The largest gun show promoter in Florida is back at the Lee County Civic Center. Browse through a huge selection of new firearms, supplies, antiques, rifles, gear, collectibles and accessories from the most reputable exhibitors in the state. ***No loaded weapons will be allowed inside! Security will check and secure weapons with a tie strap. 2 gun limit allowed inside. No loose ammo is permitted. Saturday, 9am-5pm, Sunday, 10am-5pm. Admission: $11, $10 with NRA or Military ID, *Parking is $5 per vehicle
Fort Myers Classic Car Show At Edison & Ford Winter Estates
Saturday: The Edison and Ford Winter Estates continue the celebration of Thomas Edison’s birthday by hosting the Edison Ford Antique Car Show from 10am-2pm. Over 100 antique cars will be on exhibit from local car clubs and other classic car owners who will showcase their cars on the Ford lawn, in a fitting tribute to the legacy of Henry Ford, pioneer of the automobile industry and a winter resident of Fort Myers. Owners will be on hand to visit with guests and answer questions. A portion of the proceeds from the Edison Ford Antique Car Show will benefit the restoration of the antique car collection of the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. Admission to the show is $25 per person, which includes a self-guided tour of the Edison and Ford estates, museum, and lab.
1st annual Wing Bowl – Fort Myers
Saturday: The Eatery By Ryan will be hosting the first annual Wing Bowl – Fort Myers starting at 2 pm. There will be wing eating completions For Men, Women, and children. (The most you can eat in 10 minutes.) A challenge for who can handle “Rhinos revenge” our hottest sauce, raffles for prizes and drink specials.
